It wasn’t a conversation as such – I just sat through a long report about how some people are for AV, some people are against it, etc etc, where the reporter was at a race course. The whole thing was couched in racing terms, all the visual aids were horse-based, and of course the folk who were against the AV were all “well first past the post should win, of course”. When the whole discussion on the BBC news is subliminally biased towards promoting a false analogue, there’s a good chance that the general audience isn’t going to be able to give the matter fair consideration.
