Telling truths

Today I celebrated International Women’s Day by giving my charity shop boss some daffs & a fancy yogurt, because she is so under-appreciated in her role there and such a generally inspiring person; it was brilliant because she could see that I meant it and I could see that she heard me.

Yesterday I recorded the second half of a guest spot on Kamen Rider Pez‘ podcast, where we talked about representation of girls and ladies in Kamen Rider, how a demographic being repeatedly denied the main role in a conspicuous fashion is a psychological bummer, and I fell over my tongue trying to contextualise the different levels of “they should have done this” that it’s possible to use talking about a fictional property whilst using the exact same language for all of them. Hopefully it’ll come out okay though. I think it will.

Then I rode home in mist and light rain. High forties with my helmet open to ease fog – I felt like Dirk Bogarde. I am the jolliest swagman of all.
